GenderEDGE Presents: Solidarity Immediacy Urgency

It's the first of three gender EDGE events in philly this year, a new format along w/ the continued militancy of trans*/queer punk arts activism!!! 

 

this show will include:

 

a showing of the film "Make It Happen" a documentary about the Transforming Justice Conference, that focused on dismantling the system that holds trans and gender non-conforming people captive within the prison industrial complex. This will be followed by a facilitated discussion / critical thinking session presented by philly trans activist Ben Singer

 

and then performances/artistic expression from:

 

SGT. SASS (legendary hip-hop/club/punk artists)

 

GIRLCRUSH (punx from nyc, representing brooklyn transcore)

 

ICON EBONY FIERCE (new performance/spoken word artist with the mission to bring fun back with a queer socio-political twist in his music)

 

EX. By V. (lo-fi, high energy experimental/punk/thrash/noise/prose)

 

RUBY L.L. VOYAGER (entirely rad mc for the evening)

 

D.J. NASTY SINATRA (interstitial auditory excellence)

 

local trans*/queer organizations (tba) will be tabling and sharing info. at this event, plenty of zines will be available as well

 

DOORS @ 7:30, so get there early as THIS SHOW WILL START ON TIME @ 8PM, you will miss amazing things if you show up late.

 

all ages, 5 $ suggested, absolutely no one turned away for lack of funds
