A Beautiful Day in the Gayborhood!
Philadelphia's Gayborhood, which runs roughly from 11th to Broad Street and Chestnut to Pine, first got its name in the 1990s when the Philadelphia City Paper used the term to describe the location of OutFest, an annual National Coming Out Day block party.
With its concentration of LGBT-owned and -friendly businesses, iconic rainbow crosswalk on 13th and Locust, and rainbow street signs bordering the area, the Gayborhood embodies the city's pride-filled history and community.
