Drag disturber and raconteur Tammy Faymous (Alexander Kacala) returns to Chelsea Table + Stage in the heart of Manhattan on Monday, July 17, at 7:00 pm with a show of live music, humor, and heart.
With celebrated music director Darnell White, Famous’s catalog includes music from Amy Winehouse, Patti Smith, Bette Midler, Billie Eilish, Lorde, Fergie, Alanis Morissette, Kylie Minogue, and more.
You never know what she will perform.
During this sweaty mid-summer show, Faymous will also pay homage to the Queen of Rock & Roll — Tina Turner — who died on May 24 at 83.
Never backing down no matter how many odds stood in her way, Faymous has selected a few songs from Turner’s repertoire that especially represent the icon’s prowess and tenacity.
“Tina Turner is the mold. She is the blueprint,” Faymous said. “My first concert in 1998 was her, and ever since that night, I have been addicted to her art, her story, her power. Not a trained singer or dancer, none of that mattered.
She was just born to perform. Hopefully, we do her justice by saying her name and recognizing her impact.”
