The Future Of Anti-Police Brutality Movements

Black Queer and Trans Lives Matter: The Future of Anti-Police Brutality Movements

Join leading queer and trans black radical organizers Kiara St. James, David Johns, and Kei Williams in a discussion about the evolution of Black Lives Matter movements against police harassment and police violence. Moderated by Jewel Cadet.

Queer and trans black activists have been on the forefront of organizing Black Lives Matter protests and opposing police violence. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riot, when black queer and trans people led the way for the LGBTQ rights movement, our panel will explore the history, dynamics, and future of the movement against police brutality. We will hear from Kiara St. James of the New York Transgender Advocacy Group; David Johns, Executive Director of the National Black Justice Coalition and; Kei Williams of Black Lives Matter. Jewel Cadet of BYP 100 will moderate.
