DESCRIPTION:Learn safety strategies and skills for situations ranging from verbal harassment to physical assault! Join us at William Way LGBT Community Center for a FREE Empowerment Self-Defense Intro class and learn: *Prevention & awareness strategies to avoid and get away from unsafe situations*Assertiveness & verbal communication skills to help set boundaries and speak up for yourself and others*Powerful\, easy-to-learn physical techniques to defend against assaultsThis class combines physical activities with interactive discussions\, role plays\, practice drills and reflection. Individuals of ALL gender identities (ages 14+) are welcome to join.We strongly encourage people of all skills\, abilities\, sizes and body types to participate: you don't need to be an athlete or a martial artist to learn skills to stay safe.Register by emailing mszeder@helpwomen.org!~~If you can't make this class\, no worries!
