DESCRIPTION:Q-Prom 2022: Moonlit Night at Sacramento State University in Sacramento CA\nSaturday\, October 8\, 2022 - 6:00PM to 9:00PM PST\nA fun-filled evening as we turn the Sacramento State University Ballroom into a glamorously spooky moonlit forest for our LGBTQ+ youth and allies (ages 13-20) to party\, dance\, and have fun. We’ll provide a DJ\, Drag performances\, and a safe\, sober space for our community’s youth to be themselves authentically.\nLike most of our Q-Proms\, this year’s Q-Prom is Halloween-themed\, so costumes and prom attire are encouraged but not required!\nThe Q-Prom is a self-esteem-building event that provides an opportunity for 500+ young people from throughout the region to experience the enjoyment of a traditional prom in a welcoming\, affirming environment. Many queer-identifying and ally youth do not attend school social events due to bullying\, harassment\, and\, in some unfortunate cases\, unreceptive or even hostile faculty and administration. The Center is committed to hosting a safe\, alcohol and drug- free social space for young adults.\nThanks to the #SacTownYouthNights grant from the City of Sacramento\, we can put on Q-Prom 2022 for FREE! Register now\, and we’ll see you there!\nWe continue to take additional precautions to increase safety for all Center events and program guests. If you are sick or experiencing any COVID symptoms\, we will miss you but must ask that you do not attend this event.
