DESCRIPTION:Zodiac Drag Contest at Freddie's Beach Bar in Arlington VA\nFirst Sunday - 8:00PM to 10:00PM EST\nZodiac is a monthly\, amateur drag competition held on the first Sunday and hosted by Ophelia Bottoms. There is a $5 cover charge and tips are accepted by contestants. \n \nFor dinner reservations\, please call ahead to (703) 685-0555 or go to Yelp at tinyurl.com/b4m9cnn9\n \n\nThe winner gets the zodiac sign for that date. The July winner\, for example\, would be “Miss Cancer”. In May\, all winners from the year compete for the yearly Miss Zodiac title.\n \nMonthly Contest Rules:\n1. Contest is open to anyone interested in competing regardless of orientation.\n \n2. Must be 21 years of age or older with valid state issued license.\n \n3. Must arrive by 7:30 pm with CD in hand\, dressed\, and ready to perform. There is no dressing room space available.\n \n4. Contestants are required to perform one talent number at the monthly zodiac contests. Music must be on CD and labeled with your name and title of your track. Contestants are allowed a total of 5 minutes for their number. The DJ will fade the music at the 5 minute mark.\n \n5. Winner will receive $50.00 and a spot in the Final Competition. A total of 12 spots will be up for grabs during the year.\n \n6. Winners will be allowed to return each month (without compensation) and perform 2 spots at every monthly Zodiac contest leading up to Zodiac Finals.\n \n7. Contestants are allowed to collect tips\, except at Zodiac Finals.\n \n8. Each monthly Zodiac Winner will be determined by audience applause\, except for Zodiac Finals where they will be judged by 5 judges.\n \nMetro Directions: Crystal City Metro is the closest Metro stop. When you arrive\, go out the station\, walk towards your left to 18th Street and then veer right and walk under the Route 1 overpass to Eads St. Turn left and walk to 23rd Street. Turn right. Freddie's is up 23rd Street just a block. Just look for the rainbow flags!\n \nFreddie's is Northern Virginia's only LGBTQ+\, straight friendly restaurant and bar.
