In Her own Words: "I’m really looking forward to living this life again. I have so much love and gratitude for you all.
In the meantime, I want you here with me, and I want to continue to celebrate life, love, and music with you, healthy and present. Stay safe, and take care of one another...

I asked Andrea to tell us in In Her Own Words about her experience from day ONE....She typed back:

"On April 17th, exactly one month after being in quarantine, I started feeling ill. Denise and I were receiving grocery deliveries, and went to the grocery store twice, very well protected. During the quarantine, I was a huge advocate for safety to everyone I spoke with, urging them to stay home, wear a mask and to social distance. I passed my time by cooking, baking, and the highlight of each week was doing my Thursday night live singing happy hours on Facebook. There was a true sense of togetherness, hope and so much love. We all cried together, laughed, and it felt like the world was almost “normal” for those few hours each week.

My last live performance was on April 16th. I didn’t feel quite right, but the show must go on! As mothers always know, when I told her the next day I wasn’t feeling well, she told me on my live that I looked tired, run down, and sounded out of breath that night. This began my eight month Covid journey.

Since contracting Covid, my entire life has been taken away from me. This virus has literally attacked every organ in my body. As this virus continues to be a mystery to so many healthcare professionals, I have become my own advocate, and researched most of my own care. I have seen an upward of 30 doctors, including many at the Post-Covid Center at Mt. Sinai.

I have been to the ER four times, and most recently hospitalized twice. I spent Thanksgiving week in Morristown Medical Center, and after I was released, I was too ill to be home and was advised to return to the ER at Mt. Sinai, where I was admitted for nine days. I have been unable to work and have been paying for my own medical insurance premium. Besides copays, deductibles, medications, alternative doctors and supplements, due to my insurance limitations, I have no out of state benefits, so all visits, tests and my recent hospital stay at Mt. Sinai is will be 100% out of pocket.

We still don’t have definitive answers, and we still return to the city for more appointments and tests, but I always remain hopeful that someone will “crack the code”. Denise and I are completely overwhelmed and humbled by the amazing outpouring of love from family, friends, and total strangers during this time. Your support and generosity has given me so much hope and strength. Thank you could never be enough. I love you all, and I AM TRULY BLESSED!
